Get Running In June With Ely Runners

If you’re looking to improve your fitness, make new friends and feel good about yourself then Ely Runners have just the course for you to achieve your goal.

On Monday, 18 June 2018, the popular and successful Ely Runners 10 Week Beginners Course returns for runners and would-be runners of varying abilities who want to improve their fitness and health in a friendly and social environment. Running is not just for the elite and the beginner course is designed to bring those completely new or returning to running from a breathless fast walk to a comfortable jogging pace.

In particular, the course is aimed to help beginners:

  1. Improve health & fitness and sense of well-being
  2. Get into better shape
  3. Prepare to take part in races such as ‘Race for life’ (5K)
  4. Have the opportunity to meet like-minded people at a similar fitness-level

Oh, and this 10-week course is a steal at only £2 per week! You may also get to see Team GB Ultra Runner, Craig Holgate, who took a keen interest in the last group. When he retires from competitive running, he is looking to coach.

BEGINNERS RUN UP WATERBAORD HILL

It may sound all serious but with the sessions being run by qualified UKA (United Kingdom Athletics) trained coaches from Ely Runners, you can be assured that they will take you through many aspects of running while having a laugh in a very social and friendly environment. The coaches are also very experienced runners in their own right and will be happy to share their knowledge and experiences.

THE ELY RUNNERS MARCH BEGINNERS GROUP

The culmination of the 10-week will be a 5K run at the Cambridge parkrun held in Milton Country Park.

  • When: Mondays (7:00pm – 8:00pm) over 10 weeks.
  • Where: Paradise Centre, Ely
  • Cost: The 10-week course will cost £20 – Refunded to you if you join our club!
  • Restrictions: 16+ only
